love does not hurt…

AquaMoon, camil.williams and veronica precious bohanan, is
a Chicago-based writing, performance and teaching-artist team.
The duo negates fitting into boxes and advocates for
reproductive, social, transformative and restorative justice. camil
and veronica bridge the gap between the streets, hip-hop
feminism/womanism, performance activism, and academia. They
write, direct and produce engaging interdisciplinary stage
productions and multi-media art shows, using the arts as popular
education—as well as works with education and community-
based organizations to effect social change, resulting in greater
equality, freedom, and fuller lives for womyn and youth.

The duo's interactive and thought-provoking artistry, two-womon
and full-cast performances, and educational workshops provide
girls and womyn with a safe space to be unapologetically
girl/womon, politically conscious, academically inclined, street
savvy and healthy sexual beings. In the same loving manner,
AquaMoon provides boys and men a framework that challenges
misogyny and offers balanced alternatives of interacting with,
loving, healing and respecting girls/womyn.

They’ve traveled the U.S. and abroad doing their womyn-
centered work at such places as Discovery High School and
Queens College of New York, Bards College-Simmons Rock,
MA, University of Alaska-Fairbanks, and the Illinois Youth
Detention Center. Their stage productions include
Aqua Beats
and Moon Verses: Volume 1, Volume II: Brotha...Wassup Sun?,
ShowUp and SideKick Radio Show
and Dont Call Me Sassy.
