I am a Woman in the Making directly:
- Redefines girls role in the hip hop culture;
- Explores teenage girls’ rites of passage into
womanhood;
- Explores the plight of motherless and fatherless daughters;
- Gives a face to teenage girls that have been sexually and mentally abused;
- Addresses teenagers and sexually transmitted diseases;
- Addresses youth exposure to substance abuse;
- Encourages teenage girls to engage in healthy relationships;
- Encourages high self-esteem to counteract peer pressure.
